A crazy idea: Finnish headphones took on the big brands

Most people thought we were crazy when we decided to build our own wireless noise cancelling headphones in 2019. The market already had hundreds of manufacturers, including big international brands. What could a small Finnish company possibly add? Time answered for us: we've sold tens of thousands of pairs of VMK20 noise cancelling headphones to over 58 countries, and nobody questions our sanity anymore. Not about this, anyway.

The test winner that left pricier rivals behind

The VMK20 isn't just good by our own standards. In Iltalehti's comparison test, it dominated on value for money and left far pricier competitors in the dust.

Sound tuned to the point of tears

Our sound designer Jasse "Jazmanaut" Kesti used the world's best hifi headphones as a reference and tuned the VMK20's sound for so long he actually moved himself to tears. Finnish design studio Ratamo Design finished the look. Four-microphone active noise cancellation blocks out the world, and the battery lasts up to 45 hours.

Not the newest model, but that sound hasn't gone anywhere

Let's be honest: the VMK20 isn't our newest model anymore, and it's been a few years since launch. You won't find Bluetooth LE here. But that excellent sound quality hasn't gone anywhere, and for this money you'll damn happily listen to music on these. If you're hunting for the latest tech, check out the VMK25.2. But if you're after the best sound per euro, you just landed on the right page.

Great sound, a sensible price, and a seat in the galactic club

There are plenty of good wireless noise cancelling headphones out there, but the VMK20 delivers genuinely excellent quality at a sensible price. By buying one, you're also helping us build the Death Star and conquer the galaxy. Seats are reserved for customers only, so welcome aboard.

This is a warranty-serviced unit that came in as a trade-in. The headphones ship in their original packaging, including the manual, charging cable, and 3.5 mm audio cable. Worn cushions have been replaced with new ones, and unused ones have been disinfected. There may be minor signs of use, but nothing significant: practically as good as new. The warranty is the standard 24 months, with a 14-day return right, same as a new headphone.

45-hour battery life

Forty-five hours is long enough that you'll forget when you last charged them. Music at the office, a podcast on the way home, a game in the evening, and the same again tomorrow. And the battery is still going. This is the kind of headphone life where charging anxiety doesn't exist.

Don't take our word for it. Take theirs.

We could tell you how great we are, but that would be a bit suspicious. So we'll let our customers do the talking instead. Reviews are real. Not every product has enough reviews yet, but the ones that do show up first. Photos are taken by customers themselves, and unfortunately it shows.

Do your wallet a favour, save the planet.

This is a warranty-serviced VMK20. We take in customers' old VMK20 headphones as trade-ins, and Hannes at the service shop inspects, repairs, cleans, and tests them. Worn cushions get replaced with new ones, and unused ones get disinfected. The result is a headphone that's practically as good as new, with a full 24-month warranty and 14-day return right, just like a new one.

Why buy used? Because it's cheaper, and because one person's junk is another person's treasure. If you're thrifty, on a tight budget, or just want to do your wallet a favor, these are your headphones. Someone else got the new ones, you get the serviced ones.

Warranty-serviced units go on sale as fast as the service team can process them, and the colors available depend on what comes in as trade-ins. If you need a specific color for sure, you'll find the new ones on their own page.

Great products without the dead weight*

Did you know that almost all the electronics inside headphones come from a handful of giants?

Everything else is just smoke and sales talk.

A small maker like Valco can use the exact same top-tier components as the famous mega-corporations stick in their pricier models.

We just don't have a thousand employees to feed, a Manhattan skyscraper to pay for, or a CEO with a private jet (yet).

Which is why we can give you the best bang-for-buck on the market.

And what happens after you've bought? Our customer service and Valco's in-house repair team make sure our products last. And if you fancy a change, you can trade your old Valcos back in to us. Try doing that anywhere else.

At the end of the day, the point of all this is simple. We sell headphones to fund our own Death Star, so we can rule the galaxy.
