Before buying headphones
Before buying headphones, all kinds of headphone questions might be spinning around in your head. Naturally, we’re trying to answer them in a way that makes you end up buying noise cancelling headphones from us after reading this.
How much do the Valco VMK15 and VMK25.2 noise cancelling headphones cost? Are they ever on sale?
No worries, we’re not about to drain your bank account. Valco’s headphones are wallet-friendly: right now the VMK15 costs €139 and the VMK25.2, in turn, costs €199.
As a rule, we don’t do sales, so there’s no point waiting around for Black Friday or other seasonal idiocies. Our margins aren’t as completely ridiculous as our competitors’, so we can’t afford to sell our products at half price all the time. We already give you value for money. Every now and then, though, we might get carried away and hand out discount codes to our newsletter subscribers, so that’s worth keeping an eye on.
What are the technical specifications of the Valco VMK15 and VMK25.2 noise cancelling headphones?
Technical specs? They’re good! The wireless VMK15 and VMK25.2 headphones give you enough battery life for round trips to Australia or a whole work week, if you’re not an entrepreneur. Both headphones come with top-notch Bluetooth connectivity and sound quality that’ll make you dance. The VMK25.2 is just a hair better out of the two. Still, both headphones are absolutely worth the money.
What is noise cancelling and how does it work?
Noise cancelling works like this: the headphones listen to the noise around you with tiny microphones. Then they create "anti-noise", which is basically a mirror image of the noise. When those two sounds meet, they more or less cancel each other out, so you hear less noise.
There are microphones both inside and outside the headphones. That means they can listen to and cancel noise both around you and right at your ears, meaning the noise you actually hear through the ear pads. That makes the noise reduction more effective too.
How are Valco noise cancelling headphones better than the competition?
Our headphones offer excellent sound quality, long battery life, and they’re as comfy as a feather pillow. And best of all, they’re designed in Finland. By buying Valco headphones, you can be sure your money mostly goes to the Finnish taxman and the retail oligopoly.
What sets us apart isn’t really the headphones themselves, not exactly anyway, except for being ridiculously good headphones for the price. Our customer service is something you won’t get elsewhere. Can you send some other brand’s headphones in for service after the warranty runs out?
Of course, the biggest difference between us and the others is that we’re actual human beings. The money you give us honestly goes to beer, child support payments, big gold watches, and sports cars. Or well, whatever little is left after the Finnish taxman sinks his claws into it.
Unlike our competitors, such as [Suuri japanilainen tai korealainen konglomeraatti], [Maailman suurin amerikkalainen korporaatio] and [Suuri saksalainen mikrofonitehdas], you can reach the people behind Valco pretty much anytime and even go grab a beer with us.
Try doing that with [Megakorporaation].
What color options are available for the headphones?
Valco headphones come in many colors, just like Finnish nature! The VMK25.2 model comes in two options: classic black, stylish white. It has removable magnetic color covers. You can even paint them however you like. Doesn’t affect the warranty.
The VMK15 model is available in black, and at some point there’ll be another color option too.
Do Valco noise cancelling headphones come with a warranty?
Of course. We believe in our products so much that we give them a two-year so-called full warranty, which is more comprehensive than what the others offer. If the fault is clearly on us, we’ll still help with headphone issues even after the warranty period. And when the warranty runs out, that’s not something you need to panic about either. Unlike other headphone manufacturers, we have our own service department. If you run into problems, we’re here to help. But don’t worry, Valco headphones are as reliable as Finnish sisu.
Where can I buy Valco headphones?
Great noise cancelling headphones are just a click away! You can buy them directly from our website. And hey, we ship fast, so you won’t have to wait long to enjoy the glorious sound.
You can also buy Valco headphones from well-stocked hi-fi, music gear and electronics stores. If some place doesn’t have Valco on the shelf, remember to ask the salesperson: "WHY DON’T YOU HAVE ANY GOOD HEADPHONES LIKE, SAY, VALCO HEADPHONES WHICH ARE THE BEST".
Can I use Valco headphones while exercising?
Of course. Valco headphones are like a Finnish athlete. They can handle sweat and a hard workout. They’re also comfortable and stay put, so you can focus fully on your training.
That said, we’re fat and middle-aged ourselves, so our idea of a hard workout might not be exactly the same as someone who actually exercises.
If you happen to sweat acid, we also sell replacement ear pads for the headphones.
Are Valco headphones compatible with all devices?
Yes, Valco headphones and various Bluetooth devices are as compatible as rye bread and butter!
By all logic, Valco Bluetooth headphones work with all Bluetooth-compatible devices. Whether you have a smartphone, tablet or computer, Valco headphones are ready to go.
What’s included in the package when I buy Valco headphones?
Valco headphones come with everything you need and then some. You get the headphones, a charging cable, a 3.5 mm audio cable (if you can’t use a wireless connection), an airplane adapter, and the user manual.
The headphones are delivered in an environmentally friendly way without any extra packaging, in a handy carry case you can then use to haul them around and store them in. Then again, when folded up they’ll travel just fine in a backpack or even in those 90s cargo pants.
As an accessory, you can also get a wired or wireless (VMK15 and VMK25.2 only) microphone for the headphones, which makes them great for gaming too and helps pick up less background noise in a noisy office.
Richer in headphones
Did you buy the headphones and have no idea what the hell is going on? Well, that’s fine, because we’ve got answers for you.
How do I pair the headphones with a Bluetooth device?
Pairing is as easy as throwing a rock into a lake! Just hold down the headphones' power button until you hear a sexy male voice. Then open your device's Bluetooth settings and select the Valco headphones. Different headphones have different names, but you probably figured that out. And voilà, you're ready to enjoy your music!
How do you charge Valco headphones?
If you can charge a phone, you can charge headphones too. Just plug the included USB-C charging cable into the headphones and the other end into a regular power source. When the LED light turns green, the headphones are fully charged and ready to rock. One small word of warning: the headphones do not draw as much power as, say, a tablet or a laptop. We recommend using a 1A charger for charging the headphones. If you are not sure, plug them into a computer.
What should I do if the headphones' sound keeps cutting out or is unclear?
If the audio is cutting out, something’s off. Valco headphones are supposed to have pretty damn good sound quality, after all. First, try moving your device closer to the headphones. If that doesn’t help, try turning Bluetooth off and on again. If the problem continues, contact our customer service. Every now and then we run into situations where, for example, a strong electromagnetic field messes with Bluetooth connections. In that case the fault isn’t in the headphones but in the location, and there’s not much else you can do except move somewhere else. Then again, not many of us are sitting inside a microwave oven with headphones on.
Can headphones be cleaned?
Cleaning the headphones is as easy as wiping flour off a mirror. You can neatly twist the ear pads off with a light flick of the wrist and wipe them down with, for example, a damp cloth or even a mild cleaning agent. The decorative fabric covers on the VMK15, VMK25 and VMK25.2 headphones can also be treated with stain remover if they’re completely covered in gunk. Ear pads and fabric covers have been removed and washed in a washing machine, for example in a laundry bag, but we don’t exactly recommend it. The headphones themselves are not into swimming, so don’t splash water directly onto the headphones.
How can I use the headphones' built-in microphone?
Once you've paired the headphones with your device, the microphone turns on automatically during calls and voice commands. Now you can talk freely! Your phone battery will die and you'll run out of people to call long before Valco's headphones get tired of listening to your rambling.
What do I do if the headphones don't fit my head?
A good fit is the key to comfort and the best sound quality. We’ve done our best to make models that fit every head. If you happen to have an exceptionally fat head, the VMK25.2 headphones have more room sideways. If your head is on the smaller side, the VMK15 is easier to get sitting right. For most heads, both headphones work just fine. You can carefully bend the metal core of the headband inward or outward by grabbing it roughly around the point where the headphones have their adjustment range. Be gentle, though. Plastic can only take so much.
How do I contact customer support if I'm having problems with my headphones (or with my life in general)?
The easiest way to reach our customer service is directly through this page. For anything headphone-related, you can also email us directly at info@valco.fi or find us on Facebook and try to catch us via chat.
You can also try calling us, but we do not always answer. Our phone number is +358 8 666 0 333
As mentioned earlier, we have poorly paid henchmen on the payroll whose only mission in life is to make sure you get the perfect headphone experience after you have first shoved some money our way. Someone has to pay those tiny salaries.
