As everyone knows by now, you can send us your used VMK20 and VMK25 headphones in trade-in, and get a reasonable discount on a new pair in return. We'd built up a hefty pile of VMK25 headphones in the corner, which the repair guys inspect, fix, test, polish up, and then put on sale just for you - one person's junk is another person's treasure.

Refurbished units go on sale at random as Hannes and his minions find time to fix them, so if they're sold out right now, swing by again in a few weeks.

Color options pop up pretty much at random depending on what's coming in via trade-in. If you want to be sure of getting your preferred color, you're better off ordering a new pair here.

Hybrid ANC

Hybrid ANC means there are microphones on both the inside and the outside of the earcup. They listen to what's happening around you and create a counter-signal that cancels the racket. Not that you need to know how it works. It's enough to know that open-office chatter, airplane drone, and the neighbor's renovation vanish into thin air.

Fits like a beanie

We tested the fit using an honest method: on Henri with his glasses on, on Jani's lumpy bald head, and on Henri's wife's small head. The memory foam pads spread the pressure evenly and the adjustable headband finds the right position. If a pair of headphones starts pressing or pinching after an hour of use, they don't fit. Valcos don't pinch.

Handsfree calls

The built-in microphone handles meetings and calls. It's not the best microphone in the world, but it's good enough that the person on the other end hears you and not the background noise. If you do voice work for a living, buy yourself a proper wired microphone rig.

Wireless or wired

Bluetooth multipoint means the headphones stay connected to your phone and laptop at the same time. Call comes in on the phone, music keeps playing from the laptop. No re-pairing, no headaches. If you want zero latency for gaming, just plug in the included AUX cable.

Best bang for your buck

Good headphones cost a lot because they have good components inside. We skipped the celebrity endorsements and the airport-shop markups. You pay for the headphones, not for the marketing.

Swappable magnetic covers

The covers snap off magnetically. A new colour or material clicks on in a second. No screws, no tools, no teardown video to watch on YouTube. This is one of those features you don't really appreciate until you've owned headphones that don't have it.

Travel case included

A hard-shell case that fits the headphones, the cable and the adapter without any Tetris skills. It actually protects, slides into a backpack or suitcase, and survives the treatment luggage gets at airports.

Yes, but inspected, repaired and tested by us with love. The pads have been replaced, or disinfected if they weren't worn. Basically as good as new.
